The Panhellenic Pharmacists’ Association is due to meet on Saturday to decide whether to accept the government’s offer for the staggered payment for medicines dispensed to customers insured with the National Organization for Healthcare Provision (EOPYY).
The Health Ministry proposed earlier this week that pharmacists would be paid for the medicines they supplied in June as of September 12 and that the remainder of their outstanding debts would be settled up to the end of the year.
Meanwhile, suppliers said on Wednesday that they would stop providing state hospitals with goods and equipment from today due to amassing debts.
