Doctors operating in state and private hospitals around Greece are set to strike on October 17 and 18 in protest at government measures and reforms demanded by the country’s international creditors.
On October 17 doctors are striking along with other professional sectors including lawyers, engineers and pharmacists, while the following day they are taking part in a 24-hour general strike called by the country’s main public and private sector labor unions, GSEE and ADEDY.
The October 18 general strike will coincide with a European Union summit.
