Pensioner murdered in Athens flat by suspected robber

An 80-year-old woman died after being attacked as she entered her apartment in Patissia, near central Athens, on Friday night.

Police said the woman was punched by an attacker as she was opening the door to her first-floor apartment.

It appears that the assailant intended to rob her.
