PPC worker seriously injured in power substation blast

A 42-year-old Public Power Corporation worker was in critical condition on Monday following a blast at a power substation northwest of Thessaloniki.

Initial investigations have indicated the explosion, which sparked a fire that was quickly brought under control and knocked out the supply to parts of the northern port city, was caused by a short circuit.
