The Greek human rights and anti-apartheid lawyer who was part of the team defending Nelson Mandela at the landmark Rivonia Trial in 1963-64 will be the keynote speaker on Wednesday at an event organized by the Hellenic African Chamber of Commerce in Athens in honor of the late South African statesman who died in December.

George Bizos will speak on “A Struggle for Human Dignity and National Conciliation” at the National Hellenic Research Center.

South African Ambassador to Athens S.R. Makgetla, Justice Minister Haralambos Athanasiou and Chamber President Sotiris Mousouris, formerly of the UN Center Against Apartheid, will also speak.
