In Athens Mayor race, Spiliotopoulos talks ‘aesthetics’, PASOK back Kaminis

Athens Mayor candidate and former minister Aris Spiliotopoulos (photo), who is being backed by conservative New Democracy in the upcoming local authority elections, met with Prime Minister and ND chief Antonis Samaras at the Maximos Mansion on Wednesday. Speaking to the press after the meeting Spiliotopoulos noted the need for Athens to change “aesthetics and direction.”

Also on Wednesday, incumbent Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis met with Nikos Androulakis, secretary of socialist PASOK's political council. At the meeting Androulakis said the party was supporting Kaminis's candidacy for a second term.
