Samaras, Venizelos discuss troika deal legislation, primary surplus distribution criteria
A meeting between Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and deputy Prime Minister Evangelos Venizelos concluded at the Maximos Mansion on Wednesday with the coalition partners reportedly focusing on how a series of reforms agreed with the countryís creditors would be submitted to Parliament.
Speaking to the press following the meeting, Venizelos noted that legislation regarding the recapitalization of Greek lenders would be submitted to Parliament in a separate bill.
Another issue raised at the meeting was the criteria regarding the distribution of a portion of the countryís primary surplus to about 1 million Greeks.
The coalition government formed by conservative New Democracy and socialist PASOK aims to pass the legislation before the end of March in time for eurozone finance ministers to agree to the release of a new tranche of bailout aid on April 1.
