European Commission task force leader Horst Reichenbach continued his meetings on Wednesday with government officials in Athens and hailed the administration's «decisiveness» following talks with Labor Minister Yiannis Vroutsis.
"The decisiveness of the government and the reforms in Greece have entered a new phase,» he said after meeting Vroutsis whose ministry has been tasked with supporting up to 5 billion euros of a 11.5-billion-euro austerity package demanded by the country's foreign creditors.
For his part, Vroutsis declared that that the climate in Europe was changing and emphasized that «the government will succeed in honoring its commitments.»
Reichenbach, who met on Tuesday with Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras, saying that his ministry was undertaking the most effective and reliable budget monitoring program in the whole of Europe.
