Police find another bank robbers’ hideout, more clues
Police said Wednesday that they have found a manual describing how to construct a bomb that can be detonated by mobile phone at an Athens apartment which was rented by one of the four suspects held after a double bank robbery in Velvento, northern Greece, at the beginning of the month.
Officers said they also found 10 false identity cards, mobile phones, SIM cards, computer equipment and the personal details of several citizens.
The police did not clarify who these citizens were or if they were considered potential targets.
Sources said that the police believe the discoveries at the property in Tourkovounia, northern Athens, link the original members of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire urban guerrilla group, which had bomb-making capabilities, with the four anarchists arrested in Velvento and the four suspects who managed to evade arrest. The SUV they made off in after the bank robberies was found in Naoussa Wednesday.
