Man arrested for scamming five unemployed people

A 57-year-old man was arrested in Thessaloniki on Thursday for scamming five unemployed people who he allegedly misled about job opportunities abroad and within Greece.

According to police, he would find his victims through the classified ads, where they would advertise their availability.

The man, who was not named, allegedly demanded money from his victims on the promise of finding them work at restaurants abroad or looking after elderly people in Greece.

He is believed to have made a total of 750 euros from the confidence trick.
