Prosecutors examining arms purchases during last decade for bribes
Judicial authorities are in the advanced stages of investigations into arms deals conducted by the Greek government after Akis Tsochatzopoulos was defense minister.
The veteran politician is currently in custody at Korydallos Prison, awaiting trial for allegedly accepting bribes as part of procurement deals.
However, Kathimerini understands that prosecutors are also probing two purchases of military equipment between Tsochatzopoulos leaving office in 2001 and 2006.
Sources said that two former defense ministers are being investigated as part of the probe.
