Golden Dawn says MP voted against Lagarde list committee by mistake
Golden Dawn said Thursday that the MP representing the far-right party on Parliament’s institutions and transparency committee voted by mistake on Wednesday to end an investigation into the handling of the so-called Lagarde list.
SYRIZA had asked for the panel to spend more time probing why the list containing the names of some 2,000 Greeks with savings at the Geneva branch of HSBC was not investigated, but seven of the 13 deputies on the panel opposed the idea.
Golden Dawn wrote to the committee chief to ask for the vote of its MP, Michalis Arvanitis, to be changed.
Parliament could still hold its own inquiry into the Lagarde list, which is already being probed by prosecutors.
