Military officer murdered in Karpathos

Police and forensic officers were on Friday investigating the murder of a military officer at his home on the island of Karpathos in the southeast Aegean on Thursday night.

The body of the 30-year-old, who had been posted to the island for two years, showed signs of a struggle and injuries that may have been caused by a knife.

Police were alerted that he had been hurt by the local health center, which had received a call for help from his girlfriends mother.
