Former PM George Papandreou has wages docked

Parliament said on Wednesday that it was docking part of George Papandreou’s lawmaker’s salary because he had not been present on a number of days last month.

However, the ex-prime minister’s office later issued a statement saying Papandreou had written to Parliament Speaker Evangelos Meimarakis in September 2012 to ask for his salary to be held back for any days he misses because of his frequent commitments abroad.
