Thessaloniki metro to be ready by Dec 2016, company says
Thessaloniki’s metro system, a project stalled by technical snags and budget shortfalls, will be ready to start running in December 2016, the company behind the project said Friday.
But experts are skeptical of Attiko Metro’s projection, which takes for granted that disputes between the state and the consortium in charge of the project have been resolved. They say the launch should not be expected before 2017.
Test runs are expected to begin November 2015 and last 12 months.
