Conservative MP expelled from ND's parliamentary group
Conservative lawmaker Nikos Stavrogiannis has been expelled from New Democracy's parliamentary group following comments he made on Sunday that he would not back the new austerity measures.
Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has asked that the Fthiotida MP be also stripped of his party membership.
In an interview with Real News on Sunday, Stavrogiannis said that he could not, in good conscience, vote for for an “unfair” and “ineffective” package that would hurt the poorest families.
