Athens police seek hit-and-run driver after pedestrian dies

Police said on Saturday that they were looking for witnesses to a fatal hit-and-run accident in southern Athens.

The accident occurred on Tuesday, July 29, in front of the ďAmerican BaseĒ bus stop on Vouliagmenis Avenue in Elliniko, southern Athens.

A car struck a pedestrian and drove off.

The victim died in the hospital on August 18.

Police said they have not yet been able to establish the identity of the pedestrian.

He is thought to be aged between 50 and 70.

He was wearing gray shorts and a black T-shirt and appeared to be returning from the beach.

Anyone with possible information is asked to call the Elliniko traffic police on 210.96.08.0000.
