Police probe guard shooting in Thessaloniki

Police in Thessaloniki were on Tuesday seeking the perpetrator who opened fire on a guard at a local army barracks in the early hours of the morning, causing alarm but no injuries.

The assailant used an airgun in the assault, according to the police who are being aided in their investigation by officers from the force's anti-terrorism unit.

Police are also seeking a black van in which the shooter is believed to have fled with accomplices after firing at the guard.
