PASOK officials content with members' interest ahead of party congress this week
PASOK officials said they were satisfied by the participation in the process to elect delegates for the party’s congress, which begins on Thursday.
PASOK sources said some 100,000 party members took part in the ballot, which was roughly double what had been estimated.
However, the number of votes is less than half those cast when Evangelos Venizelos stood for the party leadership ahead of last year’s parliamentary elections
“Today, we have rediscovered the thread for a relationship of trust with citizens,” said on Sunday after the voting had been completed.
It is expected that some 4,000 delegates will take part in the congress, which runs until Sunday.
The Development Ministry announced on Friday that a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises have expressed interest in the European Union-funded program for their support.
