Samaras in Strasbourg for launch of EU high level group

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras was traveling to Strasbourg on Tuesday for the launch of the European Unionís High Level Group on Own Resources.

In his capacity as the Councilís rotating President, Samaras was expected to join European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso, European Parliament president Martin Schultz and the new high level groupís Chairman, Mario Monti, in a joint press conference later in the day. The new group is expected to examine how the EU should be financed in the future.

Samaras was expected to return to Athens on Tuesday evening.
