Iraklio: One of the world's digitally smartest cities
The city of Iraklio, on the island of Crete, has been named one of Smart21 Communities of the Year by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), which is based in New York.
This year’s ICF evaluation focused on the themes of innovation and employment.
A second stage in the organization’s evaluation will determine the top seven digital cities by January, while the world’s digitally smartest city will be selected by next June.
The Cretan city was one of the ICF’s 21 finalists last year as well.
