Former swimming champion sworn in as SYRIZA MP

Eleni Avlonitou, a former swimming champion, has been sworn in as SYRIZA MP. Avlonitou replaced Rena Dourou who resigned from her parliamentary seat to focus on her candidacy for Attica governor.

Avlonitou, who took part in the 1972 Olympics in Munich, works at the National Center for Athletic Research at the Olympic Stadium in Athens. In the past, she has worked as a lecturer at the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki.
