Secondary school teachers call afternoon rally

The union representing secondary school teachers, OLME, has called on members to stage a rally outside the Education Ministry in northern Athens at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The rally has been organized to protest government plans to move ahead with more school mergers and abolitions as part of cost-cutting measuring.

OLME claims that 1,676 mergers and abolitions are planned for 2014.
