Coast guard detains 76 irregular migrants off Samos

Authorities said 76 migrants trying to enter the country illegally were detained on the eastern Aegean island of Samos on Friday.

Fifty men, 15 women and 11 children, traveling in two separate dinghies, were picked up by a coast guard vessel off the north coast of Samos before being transferred to the islands capital Vathi.

Authorities provided no details about their nationalities.
