Eurogroup debt deal a chance for Greece to make new start, says Venizelos
PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos says the agreement between the eurozone and the International Monetary Fund on reducing Greece’s debt gives the country the chance to make a new start.
“The framework that developed at the Eurogroup provides the new staring point the country needed after nine months of waiting,” he said in a statement.
“There are things to note in the details but the important thing is the overall picture, which is undoubtedly positive thanks to the sacrifices of the Greek people.”
Venizelos stressed that there is still a lot of work for Greece to do.
“It is now up to us Greeks to make use of this framework and to lay the groundwork domestically for a national recovery.”
