Motorcyclist awarded compensations for crash on pot-holed road
A first instance court in Athens on Thursday ordered the Attica Regional Authority to pay 7,000 euros in compensation to a motorcycle rider who was injured in an accident on the Paiania-Markopoulo Avenue northeast of Athens that was attributed due to the poor state of the road surface.
The court deemed the local authority should have placed warning signs where the accident happened until the road was repaired.
The court agreed that the motorcyclist should be compensated for moral and physical injury and for any medical costs but not for the cost of taxis he took as a result of his injury, nor for the income he lost while he was recuperating.
