Greece's two largest umbrella unions -- the private sector's GSEE and the civil service's ADEDY -- have said they will hold a march at 6 p.m. on Wednesday outside of Parliament to protest a raft of austerity measures that the government is due to bring before the House for ratification.
The austerity package is to be voted in Parliament by next week once Greece clinches a deal with its creditors, and contains numerous changes to labor laws and social security benefits.
In a statement on Tuesday, GSEE demanded that Parliament throw out the measures.
Meanwhile, the Athens Bar Association (ABA) announced a two-day strike for Thursday and Friday in protest at an amendment that abolishes their mandatory presence at contract signings. The ABA said that it will be meeting again on Monday to decide whether to hold further action next week.
