The local bourse’s benchmark index grew for the sixth day in succession on Tuesday after a Goldman Sachs report doubled the target price for Public Power Corporation stock from 2.52 to 5.20 euros.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 731.51 points, up 0.75 percent on Monday’s closing figure of 726.05 points, despite dropping down to 711 points two hours before the end of trade. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index expanded by 1.10 percent to close at 270.10 points.
PPC gained 11.98 percent, but was outperformed by Bank of Cyprus, which added 14.75 percent. Titan cement gave up 4.89 percent.
In total, 90 stocks secured gains, 51 suffered losses and 15 remained unchanged.
Turnover amounted to 61 million euros, down from 80.7 million on Monday.
