METKA SA won a $155 million contract to increase the capacity of Samra Electric Power Co’s plant in Jordan by 143 megawatts, Petra reported on Monday.
The upgrade will be carried out within 28 months and will bring the gas-fed station’s total generation capacity to 1,050 megawatts, the official news agency reported, citing Amjad Rawashdeh, the plant’s director general.
The project is financed by several Arab funds, he said.
