While European stocks posted a range of results at the end of trade on Monday, the local bourse appeared to have entered summer mode, with turnover dropping below 100 million euros and the benchmark ending the first half of the year with gains of 4.44 percent.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 1,214.31 points, adding 0.36 percent to Fridayís 1,209.97 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 25 expanded 0.42 percent to close at 392.05 points, while mid-caps declined by 0.78 percent.
Energy stocks outperformed blue chips with Public Power Corporation adding 3.96 percent and Terna Energy rising 3.65 percent. Marfin lost 3 percent.
In total 68 stocks went up, 56 headed south and 24 stayed put.
Turnover amounted to 90.1 million euros, down from last Fridayís 116.7 million.
