Steadfast justice

Greek judicial authorities have been doing an excellent job of investigating high-profile corruption cases systematically and with professionalism, without calculating who they involve.

This is a marked change in approach that is very important for Greece and will go a long way toward transforming it into a regular European country.

The investigations, whether they concern arms procurement or shady banking practices, must go all the way, no matter how high or how deep they reach.

Greek society is in desperate need of the kind of catharsis that only a revival of the sense that justice is being done can achieve.

We must also remember that behind all these investigations are judges, state employees and police officers who have seen their salaries slashed but continue to do their duty to their country regardless of the cost.
