Mazower on the rise of Greece's political extremes [video]
On February 13, British historian Mark Mazower gave a lecture in Athens on the subject of Greece’s political extremes. In his speech, Mazower warned the country’s political class against underestimating the threat of Golden Dawn, a neofascist party now in Parliament. Mazower, who teaches history at Columbia University, did not hesitate to draw parallels between Golden Dawn and the Nazi party of the 1930s.
