Cantu's Trinchieri to coach Greece

The Greek basketball federation has resorted to the coach of Italy's Cantu, Andrea Trinchieri, for the vacant spot on the Greece bench, after months of searching for the replacement to Ilias Zouros.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday by the president of the Italian club while speaking to an Italian newspaper.

Anna Cremascoli also said that «we are proud that Andrea Trinchieri was selected to become the coach of the national team of Greece.» He will remain as the coach of Cantu.

It has also become known that his assistants will be Giorgos Limniatis, Dimitris Papanikolaou and Ilias Kantzouris.

Trinchieri has never worked for a Greek team or for another national team, but has made his name as the coach of Pallacanestro Cantu since 2009, winning the title of the best Italian coach for 2010 and 2011.
