As part of the ongoing Theater Festival of Southeastern Europe, the Cyprus Theater Organization will stage Euripides’ tragedy “Iphigenia in Tauris” at Thessaloniki’s Dassos Theater tonight and tomorrow. The production is directed by Yiannis Margaritis. It stars Stella Fyrogeni, Neoklis Neokleous and Achilleas Grammatikopoulos and features music by Thanos Mikroutsikos. There will be English supertitles.

Kalamata Festival

Kalamata’s 13th International Dance Festival will kick off tomorrow with “Spiegel,” a compilation of scenes from six landmark works of pioneering Belgian choreographer Wim Vandekeybus from the past 20 years, performed by his group Ultima Vez. The festival, which will run to July 22, will also feature performances by Israel’s Batsheva dance company, Belgian dance collective Les Ballets C. de la B. and many others, as well as a variety of parallel events, such as live music and a site-specific duet at the city port. The 5th Athens International Dance Festival is drawing to a close, with Yiannis Adoniou’s San Francisco-based Kunst-Stoff dance theater, which will stage “In 4 Sections” and “Yia-Yia,” as well as “Under Cinderella’s Skirt,” a production by Stella Zanou’s Smack contemporary dance company.
