The three concerts scheduled to take place at the Herod Atticus Theater on September 11, 14 and 16, as a tribute to Maria Callas, have been postponed because of the upcoming elections. The concerts, organized by the Athenaeum International Art Center, will feature the Athens State Orchestra, the Orchestra of Colors and the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, choirs and opera singers. The new dates and venues are expected to be announced soon.

‘Andromache’

The Mercouria theater festival held at the Manos Katrakis open-air theater at Thessaloniki’s Sykies continues, with a performance of Jean Racine’s tragedy “Andromache” tonight. Adapted and directed by Dimitris Mavrikios, the Greek National Theater production stars Lydia Fotopoulou, Christos Loulis, Nikos Karathanos and Maria Kehagioglou. The music is by Nikos Kypourgos.

‘Iphigenia at Aulis’

The Municipal Regional Theater of Larissa will stage Euripides’ tragedy “Iphigenia at Aulis” at the Alkazar Garden Theater in Larissa tonight and tomorrow. Directed by Sotiris Hadjakis, the production stars Tamila Koulieva, Filareti Komninou, Alexandros Mylonas and Giorgos Chryssostomou. The music is by Savina Yannatou.

‘The Knights’

- Tonight
Aristophanes’ comedy “The Knights,” currently touring Greece, will be staged at the Frontzos Theater of Ioannina tonight. The Municipal Regional Theater of Roumeli production is directed by Giorgos Armenis, who also stars alongside Panos Skouroliakos and Costas Flokatoulas. The music is by Dionysis Tsaknis.

This year’s Vyronas Festival will kick off tonight with “Wonderfully Alone,” a concert of melodized Nikos Kavvadias poetry and more by Thanos Mikroutsikos, Manolis Mitsias, Yiannis Koutras and Rita Antonopoulou, at the Vrachon Theater. Cello Recital

Cellist Anssi Karttunen will give a recital at the Seegy residence in Pachiorachi on Aegina, as part of the island’s International Music Festival.
