Following last season's success, Jean Claude Van Itallie's play criticizing modern life, "America Hurrah," is to be staged once more at the Askissi Art Space as of tonight. The Askissi theater company production is directed by Periklis Moustakis and stars Paraskevi Pinioti, Elissavet Loubardia and Eleni Maouni. It will be staged Mondays and Thursdays to Sundays at 9.15 p.m.

On the occasion of the end of the exhibition of works by artist Victor Vasarely at the Herakleidon, Experience in Visual Arts Museum, the museum will hold an auction with authentic silk prints signed by the artist at 7 p.m. tonight. Proceeds from the auction will go toward the cultural activities (educational programs and lectures) that the museum organizes.

'Fresh Ground II'

"Fresh Ground II," a group exhibition of works ranging in style from realism and abstraction to pop culture and three-dimensional works, will go on display at the Thanassis Frissiras Gallery tonight. The artists participating in the show include Costas Vavyloussakis, Yiannis Kontos, Herman Levente and Frederique Loutz. Runs to November 18.

Dutch artist Henri Plaat's exhibition of works "Footsteps in Greece" opens at the Netherlands Institute in Athens tonight. The exhibition, organized at the initiative of the Amsterdam Art Foundation, will be on display until November 10. The institute is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

An exhibition of works by popular French cartoonist Jean Jacques Sempe will open at the Nees Morfes Gallery tonight and will run to October 14. Sempe, along with Rene Goscinny, has published the popular children's series of books "Petit Nicolas," which has been translated into many languages.

American artist Philip Tarlow, whose exhibition of paintings of landscapes and people from Andros is currently on display at the Skoufa Gallery until October 7, will give a lecture at the gallery at 7.30 p.m. tonight. Tarlow will combine his talk with music and images from all over the world, turning it into a kind of performance.
