President Karolos Papoulias will attend celebrations to mark the 35th anniversary of Cerebral Palsy Greece on January 28 at the Open Door complex in Argyroupoli. The association, under its founder and long-term president Daphne Economou, has done substantial humanitarian work, helping those with the condition and their families. Their guardian angel is the famous British actor Daniel Day-Lewis, who will attend the premiere of his new film “There Will be Blood,” nominated for eight Oscars, in Athens next month at the Open Door complex. The association’s current president Vicky Antonopoulou will host the ceremony, to be addressed by a child, a mother, an official of the association and a founding member. The association’s choir and the Adults’ Club dance group will also perform. Health Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos will represent the government.
