FOR ESPIONAGE: Warsaw, 29 - Three people were sentenced to death by a military court here yesterday on charges of spying against Poland and the USSR. Four other people were handed prison sentences ranging from 12 years to life. The accused faced charges of spying for the British intelligence service. CONTROL OF WORKS FOR THE THEATER: The deputy minister to the prime minister has made the following statement in response to reports regarding the Committee for the Control of Theatrical Works: “We have received complaints against excesses observed in certain theatrical revues... both from the Interior Ministry, which has passed on police reports indicating that these excesses could provoke disturbances of the peace, and from the public. I asked the board of the Association of Greek Dramatists to help and they have shown their good intentions.” (Ed. note: The problem centered on a revue satirizing Prime Minister Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos’s real and serious illness by showing doctors examining his head and saying, “Nothing there.”)
