JUSTICE: The Finance Ministry has been informed of a Supreme Court decision issued on the basis of provisions in the law on peace measures that obliges the State to reimburse Alexandros Kanellopoulos, who had been convicted of smuggling foreign exchange, of almost the entire amount of the fine of 900 million drachmas he had paid (...). The Finance Minister (Mr Chrysos Evelpidis) took upon himself the responsibility of not carrying out the above ruling and ordered that the money paid by Mr Kanellopoulos should not be returned to him. UNION REQUEST: The self-employed and manufacturers’ union has asked for a meeting with the American mission in order to (...) propose measures to improve the economic situation of the financially weaker classes in their sector.
