CYPRIOT KNIGHTS IN FAVOR OF BRITAIN: According to reports from Cyprus, the British government has awarded a knighthood to Pavlos Pavlidis of Limassol, member of the executive Council (the British-controlled government of Cyprus) for his long service in the governance of the island and his close friendly relations with the British governors of the island. [...] Panayiotis Cacoyiannis, attorney and former member of the executive, is another Greek Cypriot who has already received a knighthood. Turkish Cypriots who have received the award are Messrs Munir and Hafit.
