EVANGELOS KALANTZIS: New York, 8 (From our correspondent) - At a dinner held to mark the opening yesterday of the fifth national congress of the Cypriot Federation of America, the parliamentary deputy Evangelos Kalantzis said that Britain wanted the overthrow of the Greek government (of Constantine Karamanlis) in order to create instability in Greece. However, the British conspiracy mechanism has not been disappointed by its failure and is intensifying its efforts in the hope that the fall of the government would result in the burial of the Cyprus issue. Greece is waging a twofold battle, said Kalantzis, but it hopes to win thanks to the support of the Americans. However, it was a national mandate that the Cyprus issue be separate from partisan politics and be maintained at the highest national level. MINOTIS-PAXINOU: The Greek National Theater is scheduled to give two performances of Euripides’ tragedy “Medea” at the Herod Atticus Theater tomorrow and the day after tomorrow at 8.30 p.m. as part of the of Athens Festival. The title role will be performed by Katina Paxinou, while the performance is directed by Alexis Minotis.
