Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis to meet with Finance Minister Giorgos Alogoskoufis, Labor Minister Fani Palli-Petralia and Health Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos at 10.30 a.m. At 12.30 p.m. the premier will have talks with Development Minister Christos Folias.

Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis to meet with members of the Greek-German Friendship Group of the German Parliament.

The National Competitiveness Council presents the annual report on Competitiveness in Greece in 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Hellenic World Cultural Center. Development Minister Christos Folias will speak.

Culture Minister Michalis Liapis to inaugurate the Archaeological Museum of Schimatari in Viotia prefecture.

The European Parliament Bureau in Athens holds a conference on the Galileo satellite program, at noon at its premises. Transport Minister Costas Hatzidakis will speak.

Bank workers’ federation members stage a 24-hour strike demanding a collective labor agreement. At 10 a.m. there will be a protest march to the Labor Ministry.

OTE telecom employees stage a 24-hour strike opposing the government’s privatization policy.

Employees at the Public Power Corporation, Hellenic Post, Olympic Airlines and the Athens Water Company stage a three-hour work stoppage, from noon to 3 p.m. At 12.30 p.m. there will be a protest march in Kaningos Sq and at the Venizelos statue in Thessaloniki at noon.

Port employees stage a 24-hour strike to press demands for a collective labor agreement.

Civil Servants’ Union (ADEDY) members stage a work stoppage from 11 a.m. to the end of the shift over financial demands.

Hospital doctors stage a 24-hour strike demanding better pay and working conditions.
