Antonakakos) - From reports from Nicosia, Cyprus to The New York Times from the latter’s correspondent in Athens, Mr Sedgwick, we have been informed of a statement by Archbishop Makarios that the Cypriot leadership would not reject assistance from the Soviet Union in the debate on the Cyprus question at the United Nations. We have also been informed of the Cypriot people’s intention to raise the issue before the next General Assembly next fall. (...) With Russia as Cyprus’s advocate, the average American at this time is ready to agree that the Cypriot leadership is a communist smokescreen. GREECE-BRITAIN: On the occasion of the arrival in Faliron Bay of the British cruiser the Glasgow, with Admiral Lord Mountbatten aboard, the wife of the British naval attach� in Athens, Mrs Selby, is to give a luncheon in honor of Lady Mountbatten and her daughter Pamela. Only ladies will be invited to the luncheon.
