VANDALISM IN CYPRUS: Nicosia, 14 According to the latest reports, the total number of Greek victims of Turkish atrocities in Cyprus stands at 13 dead and 147 injured. Two Turks have been killed and 31 injured in the incidents. In addition, seven Britons have been injured and two Armenians. According to an official announcement, the situation in Cyprus today, one of the hottest days of the year, was fairly quiet. In the streets of Nicosia, only trucks were circulating, transporting the household goods of Greek families who were leaving the Turkish sector under British military escort for security reasons. Today another Greek died in hospital of injuries sustained last Thursday in the village of Gioneli, bringing the total number of Greeks killed in that particular incident to eight. As the curfew in Nicosia was lifted today, there were no reports of further incidents and people rushed out to buy food and other necessities. In Gioneli, which is near Nicosia, the curfew was still in effect. An official announcement said that in their search of the village, the security forces discovered a considerable amount of ammunition.
