KAZANTZAKIS AND NOBEL: Stockholm, 20 (Agence France-Presse) - Any day now the Nobel committee is to announce this year’s prize winners. (...) Many names have been suggested for the Nobel Prize in literature, including that of the Greek writer Nikos Kazantzakis. CYPRUS: Nicosia, 20 - The new British ruler of Cyprus, Sir John Harding, continuing his campaign to suppress the national liberation struggle by Cypriot patriots, has banned any public gatherings apart from church services in Cyprus on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of “Ochi” Day, a national holiday in Greece. GREECE AND THE UN: New York, 20 - The plenary of the general assembly of the United Nations has elected Greece and Brazil to the organization’s Economic and Social Council. (...) The US representative, Mr Henry Cabot Lodge, said that the election meant their exclusion from the Security Council. ONASSIS: Hamburg, 20 - The Norwegian fishermen and whalers’ association has charged that Mr Aristotle Onassis’s whaling fleet had surpassed permissible limits.
