KARAMANLIS: Paris, 24 – (From our correspondent S. Theodorou) After his arrival early this morning at Orly Airport, Greek Prime Minister Constantine Karamanlis said he is returning to Greece completely satisfied with the outcome of the preliminary battle waged at the United Nations for Cyprus and his talks with US President Dwight D. Eisenhower. In response to questions, Karamanlis said he would not reject a fresh electoral battle, as he was sure that the increased influence of his National Radical Union (ERE) would be apparent in any election result. (Ed. note: Karamanlis was chiefly referring here to those who were encouraging defections of a large number of ERE politicians, such as Lambros Evtaxias.) DELAYED FLIGHT: The arrival at Orly of Prime Minister Karamanlis, accompanied by his wife Amalia, Foreign Minister Evangelos Averof and Messrs Seferiadis (the poet Giorgos Seferis) and Delivanis, was delayed by some 10 hours. The delay was due to a malfunction of the aircraft during the flight from New York which necessitated an emergency landing at Gander Airport in Newfoundland for repairs to be carried out.
