PAPAGOS’S ILLNESS: The prime minister’s political bureau has issued the following announcement to the press: “The prime minister, Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos, has been instructed by his doctors to stay at home for a few days’ rest, to submit himself to a strict diet and to undergo therapy for a peptic illness which he sustained during a recent attack of influenza. During that brief period, the field marshal will chair the Coordinating Council at [his home in] Ekali, where all other meetings with ministers will also take place. Already yesterday, the field marshal received the general director of his political bureau for an extensive meeting, and today he is scheduled to meet with the coordination minister. DOVAS MEETS TITO: The Yugoslav leader Josip Broz Tito received the Greek Chief of Staff, General Constantine Dovas, who has arrived in Belgrade at the head of a military delegation consisting of Admiral Tsatsos, Lt. Gen. Ketseas and several other senior military officers. Also present at the meeting was Yugoslav Chief of Staff Gen. Vojkovic.
