CHANGE IN BANK LEADERSHIP: The goverment of Constantine Karamanlis, via the finance minister, Mr A. Apostolidis, yesterday announced a series of drastic measures in the country’s banking system. These measures comprise the replacement of the chief of the National Bank of Greece and Athens, Mr K. Iliaskos, and the appointment of government commissioners at the other two major trading banks, namely Mr G. Marangopoulos at the Emporiki (or Commercial) Bank and the Finance Ministry’s former general director Mr T. Mertikopoulos at the Ionian and Popular Bank.
