KARAMANLIS’S PROJECTS: The minister for transport and public works, Mr Constantine Karamanlis, has announced that as of today, Kavalas Avenue, which was built to divert some of the traffic from the Iera Odos, is open to traffic. Kavalas Avenue, which will be known from now on as Athinon Avenue, reaches from the Monastery of Dafni on the southeastern outskirts of the city to Constantinoupoleos Avenue. BRITISH BONDHOLDERS: London, June 23 - British Chancellor of the Exchequer Sir Edward Boyle, in a written reply to a Conservative member of Parliament, said today that the British government entertains great hopes that the Greek government will soon put forward proposals that will be acceptable to the holders of bond loans granted to Greece. The minister added that his government had informed Greece of its interest in the settlement of Greek foreign loans. CYPRIOT STRUGGLE: London, June 23 - Five young Greeks were convicted in Larnaca today to terms of imprisonment for their participation in incidents related to bomb explosions in the town on April 1.
