NIKOS KOUNDOUROS: The young film director Nikos Koundouros has just completed filming “Magic City,” with a script by Margarita Lymberaki. The film stars Messrs Manos Katrakis, Giorgos Foundas, Stefanos Strategos and Miss Margarita Papageorgiou. “Magic City” will probably be screened in March after the addition of the music score composed by Manos Hadzidakis. KING PAVLOS: During the latest session of Athens University’s School of Philosophy it was unanimously decided to award an honorary doctorate to King Pavlos, in recognition of the great interest he has shown in Greek letters and sciences. BY BREAD ALONE: The 600 bakers who are out of work following measures taken to reduce their numbers have appealed to the king and to Parliament because they have not received the six-month stipend they were owed. They are asking for immediate action “to save their starving families from certain death.” DANCE: The Hippodrome’s annual dance was held on Friday and was a great success.
